carnal images float through fields of indifference and despair
my eyes are half open / half shut, like my mind
or maybe i am already dreaming
my body lies thick like mounds of earth
filled with roots and insects
and thoughts drift like an aimless breeze over the hillside
geology does not regard day or night and time is not told on a clock
